Each year on Ride The Rockies, numerous bicycle and bicycle component manufacturers travel with the Tour “demo-ing” their products. Ride The Rockies cyclists can test-ride products ranging from Continental tires to Mavic wheels to Specialized bicycles.
This is your chance to get on a bike or a set of wheels that you have been dreaming of trying!
Here’s how it works:
1. Each day of the Tour (starting on Registration Day) you can visit one of our Demo partners.
2. If it’s a bicycle manufacturer, they’ll select a bike that fits you, adjust the saddle height, put your pedals on the bike and then send you on your way. The next day, you’ll ride the demo bike while the manufacturer transports your bike.
3. If it’s a wheel maker, they’ll remove your wheels and install a set of demo wheels. The next day, you’ll ride on the new demo wheels while the manufacturer transports your wheels.
4. After enjoying a demo bicycle or set of wheels for the day, you’ll return it to the demo partner.
Most of the manufacturers do not charge a fee, though they may require a deposit charge on your credit card to be refunded upon the return of the product.
The product demos are very popular, so many of the manufacturers take advance reservations at their tents on Registration Day.
Ride The Rockies would like to thank the demos for their support in our charity efforts. Each partner has agreed to donate a high end item for our traveling silent auction tent during the Tour. All proceeds from the auction will go to support The Denver Post Community Foundation.
