I knew going into this year’s route how much climbing there was going to be. I understood fully how hard it would be and how much work each day would take. What I didn’t know would be that I would be battling a chest cold and how few downhills we would have. As you may know already my personal motto is “the only reason to climb up is to speed down!”

One of the coolest rock mountains we saw in Yampa Valley.
With that said today was a great day for me. I did a bit of climbing and had great weather to speed down the mountains. There is little in this world that compares to going 45 mph on a pedal bike with the wind in our face and the smell of spring.
Additionally we rode through beautiful Colorado in the Yampa Valley with large open green fields, flat tops, and rock mountains.
Hope I get to ride tomorrow and that this cold will stay put for just a few more days. But if not you know I will be speeding down I-70 into Golden just for good measure.
