Ready to Go?

With only a few days left before we head out to Grand Junction, I’m starting to get a little nervous. Some last minute jitters if you will. I’m about to pack up my gear and my bike and I have so many questions running thru my head. Have I trained enough? Could I have done more? Do I have the right gear? Did I pack enough? Did I pack too much? Inevitably, it doesn’t matter. It’s time to go.

Its times like these I’m glad I’m a list maker. No, I’m not an overly organized person, I just make lists so I don’t forget anything. Otherwise, the day before I left anywhere, I’d just throw random gear in a bag and hope for the best. A list forces me to organize and plan. It also keeps that dreaded sense of panic from thinking ‘I feel like I’m forgetting something’ at bay.

Now I just have to gather all this stuff up from around the house, cram it into one container and keep it under the weight limit. Although, with half my gear being cycling apparel, which isn’t known for being heavy, I don’t think that part will be too difficult. The traveling mini-bar on the other hand, might cause a problem.

The more I think about it, I think I’ve been over thinking it. Don’t you think? Time to grab a beer and relax a little and get ready to enjoy the ride. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
