A message from the Ride Director

Andrea ParrottBlog

Wow, what an exciting time. I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I’ve been working in the Cycling industry for years and have done everything from the signage on course to construction of venues and time trial start structures to creating events from the ground up. It is a great industry to be involved in, and I’m very excited to be a part of the Ride the Rockies.

Being the Ride Director for Ride the Rockies has been a dream of mine for many years. It is my dream job!!!

This year is going to be so much fun, and I hope you and all your friends will come join us. The route might be a bit shorter than normal, but the views and the roads are going to be epic. And that’s not even mentioning the climbs! AMAZING. Everyday is going to have something special. It might be a tremendous climb over a mountain pass. Or a ride up one of my favorite canyons in Colorado – Big Thompson, or a paddle on Grand Lake at the end of your ride. The host communities are really excited to have us, and they are planning big things for your stay. I think they will have a lot of surprises waiting for you when you arrive.

And don’t forget the bands, and the massage therapists, and seeing your friends and your favorite crew members… I could go on, but I just wanted to take a moment to say Hello and Welcome, and I hope to meet you in June.

Stay tuned to our Newsletters and Social Media sites, we plan to have lots of fun and interesting information to share with you.

What are my highlights? How about a tour of the Historical Stanley Hotel in Estes Park! Stop by Lily Lake on your way to Allenspark and look for the prehistoric salamanders that hang out in the water near the shore. Trail Ridge Rd (seriously need I say more). Berthoud Pass is about as close to Alpe d’Huez as we get in this part of CO, it’s not as steep but it’s a great climb with switchbacks. Wait till you get to Central City, they are so excited to have the ride roll in, they are rolling out the red carpet. That’s just a few of the highlights, stay tuned for more.

Thank you,
